1. Recording of Testing Sessions:

  • All testing sessions MUST be recorded.
  • Esco reserves the right to request, review, and audit these recordings



2. Identity Verification:

The student/exam candidate must hold up a picture ID to verify their identity during the recorded session.

3. Proctor Instructions:

The proctor must ensure the test candidate shows their monitor or desktop and pans their camera around the room to ensure no unauthorized materials or people are present.

4. Pre-Exam Instructions:

 No breaks are allowed once the exam begins. Allow restroom breaks before starting the exam

5. Communication Restrictions:

Other than communicating with the proctor, the exam candidate must refrain from talking during the exam. Any external communication will result in the exam being stopped if it continues after a warning.

6. Exam Conduct:

  • The candidate must be prepared and not ask the proctor questions during the test. 
  • The use of cell phones is prohibited. 
  • The candidate may use a PT chart during the test. The PT chart will be provided prior the exam by the instructor.

7. Proctor's Role:

The proctor will take command of the candidate's computer until after the test has been graded.

8. Certification Process:

  • The candidate will receive the CFC card with the earned certification in 2 to 3 weeks. 
  • Passing the core exam and the type one, type two and type three exams with a minimum of 70% results in universal certification. 
  • Passing the core exam with a minimum of 70% and one or two additional exams results in certification for those specific types. 
  • Failing the core exam while passing other exams does not result in certification. The core exam must be passed for any certification. 
  • Retakes only require the candidate to retake the parts they did not pass previously. 
  • If retaking the test, the candidate must pay the current rate charged by Aircon Academy.

is an approved proctor for the CFC Universal Exam

Julio Herrera is the co-founder of AirCon Academy and an experienced vocational technical skills instructor for over 30 years.

In 1979 Julio enlisted in the US NAVY where he acquired necessary skills in maintaining and servicing various types of air conditioning systems, air handlers, chillers, hydraulics/pneumatics systems, pumps, and boilers.

After the Navy, Julio made a decision to continue his career as a building engineer with Washington Metropolitan Air Transit Authority (WMATA) where he developed a passion for teaching. He felt strongly about sharing and passing his knowledge to others and taught HVAC systems, Refrigeration, Electrical Motors, Schematics, Basic Electricity, and Heat Pumps, as well, as prep courses for CFC Universal and R410-A and other refrigerants to over 9,000 students during his teaching career.
